Entrada para mi clase de español 3050

          El lado de mi familia materna es de Perú, y por este llegó a Costa Rica un poco acostumbrada con las personas que hablan español rapido. Sin embargo, mi madre y los miembros de su familia son todos relativamente mayores y que yo no he tenido mucha experiencia hablando con nativos adolescentes. Actualmente me alojo con la familia Zamora en el INVU. Tienen dos hijos, Franciny, que tiene 13 años y Emmanuel, que tiene 17 años. Creo que mi mamá y papá de acogida tratan de hablar a un ritmo más comprensible para mí, pero cuando Franciny o Emmanuel están entusiasmados e intentan hablar conmigo, hablan a un ritmo tan acelerado! También no ayuda que se corta la terminación de la mayoría de sus palabras! Cuando tienen la intención de comunicar "para que", que realmente dicen "pa - ke". Y en vez de decir "por favor", dicen "por fa." Así que no sólo hablan rápidamente, cortan de las terminaciones de un montón de palabras y luego a veces combinan los! Pero creo que estoy mejorando, aprecio despertar y acostar todos los días al español. Quién sabe, tal vez mis sueños son en español? Pero yo lo dudo mucho!

           [My mother’s side of the family is from Peru, so I came here being at least a little used to people speaking their native language at a normal pace. Yet, my mom and her family members are all relatively older and I haven’t had much experience speaking with teenage native speakers. I am currently staying with the Zamora family down in INVU. They have two children, Franciny, who is 13 and Emmanuel, who is 17. I think my host mom and dad try to speak at a more understandable pace for me, but when Franciny or Emmanuel are excited and try talking to me, they speak at such an accelerated pace! It also doesn’t help that they cut the ending off most of their words! When they intend to communicate “para que,” they actually say “pa’que.” And instead of saying “por favor” they say “por fa.” So not only do speak rapidly, the cut the endings off a lot of words and then sometimes combine them! But I think I am getting better, I definitely appreciate waking up and going to bed every day to spanish. Who knows, maybe my dreams are in spanish? But I highly doubt it!]
